The Glen Hills Utility District reported the theft of water on Wednesday.
An employee reported to the Greene County Sheriff’s Department that on March 5, he locked up the water at a residence in the 700 block of Flag Branch Road due to non-payment. He said since then, the residence has used 100 gallons of water. The lock had reportedly been pried off the water meter.
The deputy spoke with two residents of the home, who said they were unaware of who did it and they still did not have water.
