ALBANY PROJECT REMAINS BEHIND SCHEDULE
Construction at the Albany Solar site remains behind schedule, and the contractor Silicon Valley has agreed, per stipulations of the contract to pay $495 per day for liquidated damages which equates to about $19,000 a month. The delay the company tells GEA is related to contractor issues, but the work is expected to be completed by October.
FOOD BANK CONTRIBUTIONS
The June meeting of the GEA Board marked the second consecutive month the authority has not received a report from the Food Bank for the amount of contributions customers have made through the Community HELP Roundup. Apparently the person who handles that program for the Food Bank has had some sickness. While President Wells doesn’t feel there’s any wrong doing, he did say and the board agreed, the around $13,500 donated by customers each month, needs to be accounted for and reported at each monthly meeting of the GEA Board as it has always been until recently.
