A garage, vehicles, and other items were confirmed to be a total loss on Monday after a fire on the 1000 block of Horse Creek Park Road.
According to the report, the fire began after the victim started up a 1976 Volkswagen. The engine reportedly backfired and caught a building on fire. All the contents inside the building were reported to be a total loss along with the building. The Volkswagen and a 1967 Ford F100 was also a total loss.
Several tools and a tractor were inside the structure when it burned, including other items the owner could not recall at the time of the report. The loss including the garage, vehicles, farm equipment, and tools are estimated to be around $20,000.
The Tusculum Volunteer Fire Department, Nolichuckey Valley Volunteer Fire Department, and Camp Creek Volunteer Fire Department responded. Other units assisted and supplied several loads of water from the dump tank. 900′ of 5″ supply line was used by Tusculum to pump water to the fire scene. Also responding was the Greene County Sheriff’s Department, Greene County EMS, Greeneville Energy Authority, and the dispatchers at Greene County 911.
