A Freightliner box truck was destroyed by fire after catching fire on I-81 at Mile marker 47 in Greene County Thursday around 5:15 pm.
The box truck, driven by 35 year old Geraldo King of Texas, pulled to the shoulder due to a passerby yelling and waving out of the window attempting to tell the driver that the vehicle was on fire.
When THP arrived on the scene the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames, and the driver was standing outside of the vehicle.
Fall Branch Volunteer Fire Department responded and extinguished the flame. The fire authorities say, is likely to have started due to a brake issue.
