Four people were arrested following a traffic stop Wednesday morning on in the 10000 block of Lonesome Pine Trail.
A deputy with the Greene County Sheriff’s Department stopped a pickup truck around 11:45 AM after it was seen crossing the fog line in a straight-away. The driver was identified as Jackie Hensley of Main Street in Mosheim, who had a suspended license. The passengers were identified as Christopher Crawford of Asheville Highway, Marty Wheeler of Carters Valley Road, and Jeanie Davis of Old Asheville Highway.
The deputy asked Hensley for consent to search the vehicle, which he denied. A Greeneville City Police Department K9 arrived on the scene. As the four exited the vehicle, they were patted down to check for any weapons. Wheeler had a baggie with what appeared to be a half of a gram of heroin. The vehicle search was then conducted. Several baggies, straws, scale, weights, a metal tray with residue, aluminum foil with burnt residue, metal spoons, a syringe, and a baggie containing 14 grams of a crystal like substance believed to be methamphetamine were found in the vehicle.
Hensley was charged with driving on a suspended license 2nd offense. Crawford, Davis and Wheeler were charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Wheeler was also charged with possession of a schedule 1 drug.
