A home at 1906 Fishpond Road was damaged by fire on Monday evening.
The Nolichuckey, Camp Creek and Tusculum Volunteer Fire Departments responded to the scene shortly after 6:00 pm.
A resident of the home said he was cooking a pot of beans on the stove when it caught fire. By the time he realized it, the fire had already spread to the cabinets above the stove.
The fire was able to be extinugished and was contained to the kitchen area.
Another resident of the home reportedly sustained smoke inhalation. EMS personnel checked the victim and she was transported to the hospital for treatment.
Damage to the home was estimated at $10,000, according to a report from the Greene County Sheriff’s Department.
