Tennessee First Lady Maria Lee will be in Greeneville Monday morning as part of a kickoff event for the Tennessee Kids Serve Summer Challenge.
Mrs. Lee will be at the Roby Adult Center on Monday, June 10 from 10:00 AM until 12 noon. Rising kindergarten through sixth graders are invited to serve seniors during the event, which will include crafts, woodworking, painting and other activities.
The Tennessee Kids Serve Summer Challange encourages youth to devote a portion of their summer to serving in the community. Participants must complete a service activity from at least two of the eight service categories provided and a minimum of two service hours to complete the challenge. More than 2,200 kids have participated in the summer challenge since 2019.
Monday’s event with first lady Maria Lee will begin at 10 AM at the Roby Adult Center and is free of charge. Lunch and refreshment will be provided for attendees, and all children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
