The Strings of Green band will be performing at Annie Hogan Byrd Fine Arts Center at Tusculum University today at 7:30 PM, in the Marilyn duBrisk Theatre. There is no cost for admission.
Strings of Green is led by Brandon Green, who has been a performer for more than 20 years. The band also consists of three of his sons – Josiah Green, 15; Ezekial Green, 10; and Ezra Green, 8.
The band will perform two, 30-minute sets, incorporating fiddle tunes, bluegrass, gospel and country.
The song list includes “Country Roads,” “Foggy Mountain Breakdown,” “I’ll Fly Away” and ‘Windy and Warm.”
Band Leader Brandon Green is also the National Banjo Championship winner in 2014, and will be heading the performance.
Green has performed with bands throughout the United States and Canada as well as in Israel and several countries in Europe. He has also taught bluegrass at the collegiate level for more than 10 years. He plays and teaches the banjo, guitar, dobro, mandolin and bass and is a ukulele and is a beginner fiddle instructor.
