DESCRIPTION:Andrew Johnson National Historic Site (NHS) will host an interp
 retive campfire program focusing on Andrew Johnson and the United States C
 onstitution on September 23\, 6 pm to 8 pm\, in the backyard of the Histor
 ic Andrew Johnson Homestead\, located at 209 S. Main Street\, Greeneville\
 , TN 37743.\n\nDuring and after his life\, Andrew Johnson was lionized by 
 local citizens of Greeneville and political supporters as the "Defender of
  the Constitution\," but many of his contemporaries and later critics\, sc
 holars\, and historians viewed Johnson far differently. In many respects\,
  this pattern of thought continues today. Park Guide Zachary Miller will e
 xamine and explain\, using examples of Johnson's own words and actions\, w
 hy our 17th president was supported and loved by some\, but also venerated
  and criticized by others.\n\n"Andrew Johnson and the U.S. Constitution" w
 ill wrap up the park's activities in support of a national observance of o
 ur founding political document - the United States Constitution. Visitors 
 of all ages are invited to usher in the fall with this free interactive in
