Greene County Road Superintendent Kevin Swatsell and EMS Director T.J. Maines both addressed the Greene County Budget and Finance Committee during their Wednesday meeting.

EMS STATION AT BAILEYTON

Director Maines reported to the board the insurance adjuster has listed damage during the recent fire at the Baileyton EMS Station at $35,000.  Maines says while that building is being repaired, the Baileyton EMS Station is temporarily located at the nearby United Volunteer Fire Department.

CEDAR CREEK ROAD IN NEED OF REPAIRS

Superintendent Swatsell spoke of safety concerns on Cedar Creek Road, especially during rainy weather.  Swatsell says there are five locations of about 100 yards, including one near Cedar Creek Church of God that he believes need to be addressed.  He is proposing an anti-skid or high friction type surfacing which has been used on Debusk Road in the past.  The work, more costly than normal projects , would have to be bid out as it can not be done locally.  Swatsell is hopeful of bringing a resolution to the county commission early next year to use money from the road department fund for the repairs.
