The Tennessee Emergency Management Authority has requested that the Greeneville/Greene County Office of Emergency Management gather preliminary damage assessments from the flood event over this past weekend.
First, homeowners/business owners, who have insurance, should immediately reach out to their insurance carriers to report damages.
Otherwise, if your residence/business received damage(s), specifically structural, during the flood event between July 11-13, call the Emergency Management Office at (423) 798-1729 and leave a message by no later than Thursday, July 16, which is a deadline set by the state.

Address of reported damages
Detailed information about the damage
After receiving your report of damages, it will be reviewed and submitted for damage assessment. Someone will reach out to you and schedule a time and date to meet with you regarding these damages. The preliminary damages will then be reported to TEMA through local emergency management for their review process and total damages reported.
Please note that with any disaster, a local, county threshold must be met and then a threshold of damages must be met at the state level for a disaster declaration to be considered. This assessment does not mean Greene County will qualify for a disaster declaration and subsequently assistance through FEMA.
