More than 5,000 voters cast ballots during the first week of early voting for the November 5 election at the Greene County Election Commission office.
A total of 868 early votes were received on Saturday, pushing the number of early in-person votes to 5,096. Including absentee and mail-in votes, the number of early votes is at 5,624 after four days of voting.
The early voting paces continues to easily outdistance that of the 2020 election, when there had been 2,978 in-person early votes after four days, an increase of just over 40 percent. With 10 days of early voting remaining, the total in-person votes has already been 40 percent of the total number of votes for the entire 2020 early voting period.
Early voting resumes Monday, October 21 at the Greene County Election Commission on CCU Boulevard. Hours are Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:30 AM until 5:00 PM, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 AM until 6:00 PM, and Saturdays from 8:30 AM until 2:00 PM.
