Turnout continues to run well ahead of recent years as the midway point of the early voting period approaches.
Today is the seventh of 14 days of early voting, and through six days the turnout is up just over 60 percent from four years ago. There were 1,679 early votes on Tuesday, the highest single-day total of this election cycle, boosting the number of total early votes to 8,691.
Through Monday, the rate of in-person early voting had increased 61 percent from 2020. Over the first five days, there had been 6,348 in-person early votes this year, compared to 3,935 at the same point four years ago. Including absentee votes, the early voting rate is up 27 percent from four years ago.
Early voting is open today from 8:30 AM until 5:00 PM at the Greene County Election Commission office on CCU Boulevard. Early voting continues weekdays and Saturdays through October 31.
