A dryer fire at the Mike Martinez residence around 9:30 Thursday morning was contained to the unit itself.
A Greene County Sheriff’s Department report indicates firefighters from the St. James Volunteer Fire Department responded after Martinez noticed smoke coming from the laundry room shortly after putting a load of laundry in.
Firefighters removed the dryer from the residence. The report indicates there was no visible damage to the home.
