A man escaped injury this morning when his car left the roadway and came to rest upside down in a creek.
The driver said that a deer bolted in front of his car while he was traveling in the 1900 block of the Greystone Road just before 7:00 AM. The driver was uninjured, was was trapped in the car due to it being upside down. He could not see the roadway from where he was, and was not sure that his car could be seen from the roadway. He helped guide responders to his location by staying on the phone with 9-1-1 dispatchers and letting them know when sirens were getting close to his location.
Reponders were able to break a window and help the occupant out of the car.
The Camp Creek Volunteer Fire Department, EMS, Greeneville Emergency & Rescue Squad and Greene County Sheriff’s Department responded.
His mother said he was shaken but not injured and thanked first responders in a social media post.
his is my son this morning. He is fine, extremely shaken and grateful it was not worse. Big buck decided he should be late for work this morning. Thankful for the first responders and their hard work and kindness.
