National 911 Telecommunications Appreciation week will be observed from April 13 through April 19. This is a week to honor those who are behind the scenes and recognize those who strive to keep the public safe.

Greene County 911 Dispatch responds to all emergency calls in the area. They dispatch law, fire, and medical calls for the entire county. This includes the city of Greeneville and the municipalities of Baileyton, Mosheim, and Tusculum.
Responding agencies include Greene County EMS, 14 different Volunteer Fire Departments, and Greeneville Fire Department, and Greene County Sheriff Dept. As well as responders from Greeneville, Baileyton, Mosheim, and Tusculum Police Departments. Greene County 911 Dispatch also transfers calls to the Highway Patrol, other surrounding 911 centers, poison control, and mental health centers.
Depending on the emergency, Greene County 911 also dispatches the Greeneville Rescue Squad, Highlands Air Rescue, Emergency Management and Homeland Security, HazMat, Animal Control and other various agencies.
Greene County 911 is comprised of many hardworking, intelligent, and caring responders who are dedicated to the safety of the citizens in Greene County. There are 22 full time and 8 part time highly trained responders at the Greene County 911. Each one of the telecommunicators bring a unique set of skills and experience that is unmatched by any other.
The dispatch station dedicates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and 365 days a year to serving and protecting the community. Take this week to honor and give thanks to our local 911 Emergency Telecommunicators.
