In addition to the retirement of David McLain as Director of Schools , another long time Greene County School System employee is also retiring.
David Myers was the Supervisor of Facilities. He began working with the school system maintenance department 41 years ago soon after graduating high school.
Myers was also honored at the January meeting of the Board of Education last week at the Central Office.
Like McLain, Myers is a former student in the Greene County School System having graduated from West Greene.
During the meeting Thursday , Architect Dave Wright credited Myers for his work at the West Greene CTE construction site recently. Wright says Hurricane Helene created some serious site damage to the dirt that was being brought in by the contractor to raise the site elevation. Wright said Myers took on the remediation of the damaged site, and in the process, saved the county countless dollars.
Chris Adams will be taking over for Myers.
