The legacy of David Crockett was honored on the House Floor in Nashville Thursday morning.
State Representative David Hawk of Greeneville, who sponsored the House Bill proclaiming March 2–6 as David Crockett Week in Tennessee, moderated the ceremony which can be viewed on the link below.

David Crockett was born in Limestone in present-day Greene County in 1786. He died on this day, 190 years ago, March 6, 1836 at the Battle of the Alamo.
Funds for phase one of the repair and construction at the David Crockett Birthplace State Park in Greene County are proposed in the 2027 state budget following extensive damage during Hurricane Helene.
