Units from the Tusculum Volunteer Fire Department responded to a call of a load of cross ties smoking on Thursday.
The cross ties were being hauled on a flat bed truck which stopped on East Andrew Johnson Highway across from Chuckey Doak when the smoking was noticed.
Firefighters say they quickly brought the incident under control without any further damage.
