The problem with the Cross Anchor Utility District’s December bills not getting to customers this month appears to have been corrected.
Utility Manager Chad Wampler told Radio Greeneville News this morning he began hearing from some customers Saturday who had received their bills in the mail. He says few paid bills were in the Utility District drop box when they arrived at the office this morning.
Wampler says it appears the problem was at the regional processing center in Knoxville due to a sorting machine issue. The local utility was not notified of the possible delay.
Wampler says customers, even those who have not yet received their December bill, may stop by the Utility District office at 800 West Andrew Johnson Highway, or call them for options on paying.
The local number is (423) 639-5125.
The Cross Anchor Utility District has around 3,500 customers
