The Greene County Purchasing Committee approved a bid for new playground equipment at Kinser Park during its meeting Friday.
The committee approved a $346,652 bid from Page & Associates, Inc. out for Kingston, TN for the purchase and installation of the new playground equipment.
The new playground equipment will be paid for through a $1 million Community Block Development Grant. Other projects funded by the grant include grading for the new playground equipment, parking lot paving, a concrete walkway, new benches, and new trash receptacles.
The new playground will feature ADA accessible playground equipment.
In other business, the committee approved a $102,685 bid from Fiber Connect to install data cabling throughout the third floor of the Greene County Administration Center, the former Takoma Hospital.
The third floor of the facility is expected to hold Sheriff’s Department administrative offices once renovations are complete.
