The Greene County Commission approved a resolution that assists in bringing broadband services to the county at their meeting on Monday.
The Commission approved unanimously a resolution to establish Greene County as a “Broadband Ready Community” and a policy for reviewing applications and issuing permits related to projects relative to broadband services.
The Commission also gave their approval unanimously to resolutions supporting applications by Greeneville Light & Power and BrightRidge for Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development’s Emergency Broadband Grant 2022.
BrightRidge is included because small parts of Greene County in the Limestone and Fall Branch areas are serviced by this group.
The Greene County Commission will next meet on Monday, April 18.
