Excavation work was reportedly not completed by a contractor at a property on Round Knob Creek and the victim states the contractor also stole multiple items while on the job before ceasing contact.
According to the report, the suspect was hired in June of 2022 through a company named Carter and Sons LLC. Multiple jobs were to be done on a new build including cutting in an access road, cutting the ground for the build, and clearing brush, but the victim states the jobs were incomplete or not done properly.
An automatic fence and the parts for installation were allegedly taken totaling more than $3,000. After confronting the suspect he stated the equipment was being kept at his residence for safekeeping. About 30 timbers were also taken from the victim’s property. The suspect stated he sold the timbers and had a $3,000 check for the victim, but the suspect was not given consent for the sale.
Throughout this time the victim states the suspect would cease contact for months at a time. As of last week the victim had not heard from the suspect since September 2, 2023. No items have been returned and no funds have been received yet, according to the report.
