Charges are pending after a crash yesterday near Bowers Road.
According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol report, 3 vehicles were involved. A vehicle, driven by 69 year-old Claude G. Wills, was traveling north and entered the southbound lane on the Newport Highway when his vehicle collided with two other vehicles in a sideswipe type collision. Both of the other vehicles were traveling southbound when the accident occurred and came to an uncontrolled final rest in the lane.
Wills vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway and went into a field. Charges are pending for Wills according to the report. Everyone did have their seatbelts on at the time. The two other drivers were reportedly not injured or charged but one of the passengers was injured during the accident. No further information is available at this time.
