The Greene County Civil Service Board and the Greene County Sheriff’s Department will be conducting a civil service examination Thursday November 9 at the Greene County Courthouse.
The test, for the position of deputy sheriff-corrections officer, will begin promptly at 6:00 PM. Please be present no later than 5:45 PM and bring a photo identification.
Candidates must be at least 18 years of age, a U.S. Citizen, a high school graduate or possess a GED, and have no criminal record. Candidates must also possess a valid Tennessee driver’s license, be able to pass a physical and psychological examination, and be of good moral character. Additional requirements may apply. Starting compensation for the position of deputy sheriff-corrections officer is $18.39 per hour.
Applications may be obtained at the Greene County Sheriff’s Department between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM Monday through Friday. Completed applications must be turned in at the Sheriff’s Department no later than noon Wednesday November 8. For more information, contact Detective Toby Price at 798-1800.
