As we first told you early last week, the Greeneville City Board of Education will consider a contract extension for Director of Schools Steve Starnes.  That’s among several items on the agenda for the meeting of the board Tuesday afternoon at the Central Office on West Depot Street.

As reported in our earlier story about the Greene County School System, there is nothing on the City School Board agenda dealing with the one-time $2,000 bonus for city teachers on the March agenda.  The Greene County School System will consider it for their teachers on Thursday.

School Boards across the state have until June to decide whether to opt in to the bonus, which is part of the Education Freedom Act of 2025.
