The Greeneville City Board of Education approved an increase in tuition rates for students who live outside the city limits during its meeting Tuesday evening.

The $50 increase per child will result in tuition for the 2023-24 school year for Greene County residents of $1,275 for one student, $2,500 for two students and $3,675 for three students. Out-of-county students who attend city schools will see their tuition increase to $1,850 for one student starting this fall.

Also approved were the audited financial statements for the 2021-22 fiscal year, along with school fees for the upcoming school year. The board also granted tenure to 11 candidates during Tuesday’s meeting, and approved the purchase of mathematics textbooks.

The Greeneville City Board of Education will next meet on Tuesday, March 28 at 5 p.m. at the Central Office.
