A Chuckey woman was arrested Thursday in connection with a hit-and-run incident that occurred in Washington County in December.
According to Sheriff Keith Sexton, deputies located 22-year-old Keirra Nicole Sauls hiding in the attic of a residence on Liberty Hill Road. She was taken into custody on charges of leaving the scene of an accident involving personal injury, driving left of center, driving without possession of vehicle registration, failure of duty to give information and render aid, and violation of the financial responsibility law.
The charges against Sauls stem from a vehicle crash that occurred on December 30, 2025 on Liberty Hill Road. After conducting an extensive investigation into the crash, it was determined that Sauls was the driver of the vehicle involved.
She is being held in the Washington County Detention Center without bond. An initial court appearance is scheduled for Friday.
