A Chuckey man wanted in Washington County was taken into custody early Wednesday.
Washington County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 41 year old Jason Allen Phillips and charged him with Evading Arrest and Resisting Arrest.
According to Sheriff Keith Sexton, Deputies patrolling Highway 107 around 2:30 a.m. noticed a truck partially in the roadway at the intersection of Highway 107 and Curtis Road. Upon checking the vehicle and speaking with the occupants, Deputies discovered Phillips had two warrants for Failure to Appear in a Felony Case in Washington County.
Deputies asked Phillips to step out of the vehicle and he took off on foot. After a brief foot pursuit, Deputies and Jonesborough Police Officers found Phillips hiding in thick brush.
Phillips was transported to the Washington County Detention Center where he is being held without bond. His first court appearance is set for today.
