A Chuckey man is facing charges following an incident on Thursday morning in which he allegedly fired a shotgun and injured his father.
The Greene County Sheriff’s Department arrived at a residence in the 3000 block of Chuckey Pike around 9:15 AM on the report of an aggravated assault and found Dustin Strong sitting on the porch talking incoherently. He said he had been shot five times, but deputies found no bullet holes on him.
Deputies discovered Strong’s father had minor abrasions on his hands that were consistent with being shot with buckshot from a shotgun. The victim said he had walked out of the back door of the home and heard a gunshot coming from the shed behind the home that Strong stays in. The victim said he looked at his hands and saw that he had been shot.
Deputies found a 12-guage shotgun sitting against a closet and a .22 rifle next to the door. The shotgun had a used casing inside of it and the rife was loaded. Ammunition was found on a desk inside the shed.
According to the report, the victim refused EMS and Strong did not need medical treatment.
Strong as transported to the Greene County Detention Center for aggravated domestic assault, felony reckless endangerment, and violation of a court order. Strong was convicted of a domestic assault in June and is not allowed to possess a firearm.
