A man from Chuckey was arrested yesterday afternoon on Baileyton Road with multiple charges after he fled from a deputy.
The suspect, later identified as Eric Allen, was driving with expired tags, which initiated a traffic stop on North Main Street. The vehicle stopped but then fled outbound on Baileyton Road. Allen drove about 200 yards before pulling into a parking lot and was seen tossing a clear bag out the window, then continued fleeing.
The vehicle eventually came to a stop because of a traffic jam and Allen was arrested at that time. After a search of the vehicle, a glass pipe was located on the driver’s side floorboard. The clear bag that was tossed was recovered, which contained Methamphetamine and Xanax according to Allen. He was found to have a violation of probation warrant and had a revoked drivers license.
He was charged with simple possession of drugs and unlawful drug paraphernalia, evading arrest, warrant arrest, and suspended/revoked license 3rd offense.
