A Chuckey man is facing charges in Washington County for aggravated domestic assault and driving on a suspended license.
According to Washington County Sheriff Keith Sexton, deputies responded around 12:30 am Thursday, July 16 to the report of a domestic disturbance at the intersection of Old State Route 34 and Taylor Mill Road. The victim was reportedly found standing in the road.
The victim told deputies she and 28-year-old Tyler D. Buchanan got into an altercation as they were leaving a residence in Greene County. When they reached the Limestone Volunteer Fire Department, Buchanan reportedly threw the victim’s phone onto the parking lot. He also allegedly grabbed the victim and dragged her on the pavement.
The victim got back in the vehicle with Buchanan, and he stopped near the victim’s house, where she got out.
The victim told deputies Buchanan attempted to strike her with the vehicle. Deputies reported the victim had multiple bruises developing on her arm and abrasions on her back, all which supported her story.
Buchanan’s vehicle was located a short distance from the scene and a traffic stop was conducted in the 3300 block of Old State Route 34.
Deputies transported Buchanan to the Washington County Detention Center, where he was being held without bond prior to his court date on Thursday, July 16.
