Around 1:15 this morning, police were dispatched to a possible intoxicated driver on East Andrew Johnson Highway with a child in the vehicle. Deputies with the Greene County Sheriff’s Department stopped the silver minivan until Greeneville Police arrived.
Officers identified the driver as Priscilla King of Elk Street, and reported an odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from her person. King agreed to perform standardized field sobriety tests and performed poorly on all tasks.
She was transported to the Greene County Detention center and charged with driving under the influence first offense and child endangerment.
The child on scene was placed in other care under the direction of Department of Child Services.
