There will be a Cedar Creek Community meeting on Friday, September 27th at the Cedar Creek Fire Hall Station.
This will be a meeting open to the public. Hoot Bowers, a resident of the Cedar Creek Community, called the meeting regarding the fire department’s recent closure.
Bowers told Radio Greeneville News he called the meeting because the Cedar Creek Chief and others reportedly met in a closed session at the station before deciding to close the fire department. Bowers said this discussion should have been an open session.
Several members of the community are expected to attend on Friday to discuss the closure. Bowers said although this meeting likely won’t change the outcome or save the fire department, at least the community will be involved, can address any concerns, and then go from there.
The meeting will begin at 6 PM at 3342 Cedar Creek Road.
