The Greene County Sheriff’s Department confirmed today a vehicle fire early Saturday also resulted in damage to a Horton Highway residence.
A Stone Mountain Road resident reported he was awakened around 4:45 am Saturday by a large popping sound. When he went to his front yard, he could see a truck on fire in the frony yard of the Coty Baines property. He reported the fire then quickly caught the siding of the residence on fire.
9-1-1 then dispatched several volunteer fire departments to the scene from Newmansville,Fall Branch,Mosheim and United Volunteer along with the Debusk Rehab unit.
The Dodge Q35 which belonged to Terry Bacon on the Horton Highway, was valued at $20,000 according to the Sheriff’s Department report. A damage estimate to the Baines home was not listed on the report.
The Fire Investigator was called to the scene.
