A welfare check resulted from a phone call to police after midnight Saturday. A man stated he wanted a ride and that he believed his family had been harmed.
Police found the caller, Travis Brooks of Sweetwater, at Snapps Ferry Road and Gass Drive. Brooks told officers his cousins were after him and that he had court in Nashville in the morning.
It was confirmed that Brooks had two active Violation of Probation warrants. A search found approximately 1.5 grams of Methamphetamine in a cigarette pack and a cut straw in Brooks’s pockets. He is additionally being charged with Possession of Meth and Unlawful Drug Paraphernalia.
He was transported to the Greene County Jail.
