The Greene County Election Commission reported today that Pam Botta has filed a nominating petition to run for re-election as an independent in the May 2 Town of Greeneville School Board Primary Election.
Josh Quillen filed a petition last week to run for re-election to his school board seat as a republican
The general election may not be held, however, as the Town of Greeneville has proposed changes to the charter to hold all elections on even-numbered years. If those changes are finalized, school board members would have their terms extended by one year to coincide with other races scheduled during the 2024 election.
The qualifying deadline for the May 2, 2023 City School Board Primary was Thursday.
