A Radio Greeneville listener has notified us of a bear, or bears roaming residential neighborhoods in The Meadows, Tusculum and Longview neighborhoods.
A fence (pictured) was destroyed in the Tusculum neighborhood. Trash cans have been turned over. TWRA biologists advise not putting trash out until near pickup time and put away bird feeders and anything else that might encourage them close to your home.
It should also be noted a wreck on the 107 Cutoff Sunday night was caused by a bear walking into the path of a car. The bear did not survive, but no one in the car was injured.
However , in Campbell County earlier this week , one teenager died and another was injured when their pickup truck collided with a bear which ran in front of the vehicle.
