Buses in both the Greene County and Greeneville City school systems were running on this abbreviated first day of school.
Not all students attended today. Students not previously registered for the new school year were able to do so today prior to the first full day of school for students in both systems on Friday.
Freshmen Orientation is being held at the county high schools.
Other schools are conducting open houses and meeting parents.
BAILEYTON ELEMENTARY
Baileyton Elementary is open today despite some water making its way into the school building Tuesday afternoon when about two inches of rain fell in an hour in that area. Director of Schools Dr. Chris Malone told Radio Greeneville News last night crews were in the school cleaning and drying three classrooms and the hallway.
