Educators in the Greeneville City and Greene County School systems are busy preparing for the 2026-2027 school year, which begins next week for students.
GREENE COUNTY
The Greene County School System hosted a first year teachers event at the Greene County Administration Center last Thursday.
If they haven’t been already, teachers might be found working in their classrooms this week prior to school level in-service Thursday followed by the Greene County Schools Back To School Bash later in the day Thursday at CDHS.
Friday is a technology in-service day with more training next Monday and a work day for teachers on Tuesday, August 4.
Wednesday, August 5 in the Greene County Schools is registration for new students and freshman orientation from 8:00 to 10:00.
The first full day for county students will be Friday, August 7.
GREENEVILLE CITY
The new school year in the Greeneville City Schools begins with a new Director of Schools. Dr. Matthew Drinnon has been on board since May 1st and officially took over June 30th.
New teaching training in the Greeneville City Schools is today and Tuesday with orientation Friday at the NPAC.
Following an abbreviated day for city students on August 5th, the first full day in the city will also be on Friday, August 7.
