An attempted theft was reported at a Greeneville restaurant early this morning.
The Greeneville Police Department responded to Wendy’s on East Andrew Johnson Highway around 3:45 AM after receiving a report of people inside the building. An unsecured door was discovered upon their arrival. Officers cleared the building and found a safe had been moved onto a 2-wheel dolly, but left in the office. An alarm speaker and other items were also damaged by the suspects in the kitchen.
The incident is under investigation.
