Another arrest has been made regarding the recent shooting incident at Greeneville Inn and Suites, February 6.
Around 5:00 AM on February 6, 9-1-1 reportedly received a call from a gas station along East Andrew Johnson Highway. The caller was identified as David Smith, of Cemetery Road. Smith reported that his cousin was being chased on Carson Street by a silver car.
At the time, officers were investigating the shooting at the Greeneville Inn and Suites. Based on evidence collected by the Greeneville Investigations Division, a warrant was issued and Dondri Neal was arrested in Michigan, for a felon in possession of a firearm.
According to the report, investigation of the 9-1-1 call determined that Smith made the call falsely in an attempt to return to the hotel and locate items for Dondri Neal. Smith’s actions directly mislead the investigation and aided Neal.
Smith went to the police station Friday morning, where he was taken into custody for filing a false report.
