Main Street: Greeneville will be sponsoring the annual Halloween Happenings on Thursday, October 31 from 4-6 PM in downtown Greeneville.

Merchants, professional offices, banks, churches, industries, and the county courthouse will treat children under 13 years of age with candy if they are accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Greeneville City Schools Education Foundation will assist with the costume contest in the parking lot of the City School System’s Central Office. Registration forms may be downloaded this year at mainstreetgreeneville.org. The contest will again have children’s age categories and the family category. Prizes will be awarded.

Other activities include hayrides, a street-size chalk board, and music from The Greeneville Community Swing Band.

There will be no on-street parking after 3:00 PM Thursday, October 31 within the event area, which includes Main, Depot and Summer Streets. Please take caution when traveling within the downtown area.

Any business that would like to participate in handing out treats can call the Main Street: Greeneville Office at 639-7102.
