ALPS Adult Day Services Greeneville Center, located at 431 E. Bernard Ave. has been awarded 2025 winner of “Best of Tennessee” for Specialty Health Care by Guide to Tennessee.
ALPS Adult Day Services is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization providing compassionate, therapeutic adult day care for individuals with cognitive and/or physical impairments who are being cared for by family members at home. Operating since 1986, it’s licensed by the state of Tennessee and supported through fundraising, grants, and community donations, allowing them to charge families on a sliding scale, often making services far more affordable than alternatives like nursing homes.
By giving personalized care and family support, each participant receives an individualized Plan of Care, with measurable goals. Plans are implemented within 30 days of enrollment and updated quarterly. Daily health checks ensure medical well-being and family conferences are scheduled as needed, addressing concerns and referring out-of-scope needs to other agencies. The enrollment process includes scheduling a visit with the Family Services Coordinator, completing enrollment forms, and undergoing initial cognitive and physical assessments. Support for families also includes community training, dietary assistance, counseling, referrals, volunteer training, internships, and monthly support groups.
Why ALPS Adult Day Services Stands Out
ALPS is highly praised by families and professionals with one family caregiver calling ALPS nothing less than a “Sherpa on a mountain trail” during a family’s challenging time.
Tiffany’s mother, Winnie, says, “Every day when I drop off Tiffany, she is out of the car before me and when she comes out at the end of the day she is always smiling. That says it all for me. She LOVES ALPS Greeneville. I love the care that she receives. I don’t know what I would do without them!”
ALPS also gives back to the community through hands-on training required of nursing students. Mary LePage, APRN, MS, BC, an instructor in psychiatric-mental health nursing, complimented both the facility and the staff as being “a perfect setting” and a favorite clinical experience for students. Mission-driven, with core values of dignity, homelike comfort, independence, self-esteem, and family integrity, ALPS Adult Day Services is a hidden gem that Greeneville, Tennessee is fortunate to have.
“At ALPS, being named Best of Tennessee is an incredible honor — but the true privilege is serving the families of Greeneville every day.” Mahon Fritts, CEO said.
