While AIDNET of Greene County identifies as a long term recovery group for those hit by natural disaster, the local group is starting to see some results of their labor with some families moving back home following Hurricane Helene
That’s AIDNET Chairman Jeff Idell following the bimonthly board meeting at the Greene County Partnership Tuesday.
Some area counties have not been as fortunate to have an organized group as the local AIDNET group. Idell says hopes are to begin to network more with other counties

Lynn Huff with American Red Cross reported 39 families in Greene County have been assisted locally by Red Cross to date to the tune of $81,900.
Kat Latham is with Washington County United Way and is Regional Director for Disaster Recovery in the six counties most effected by the flooding. She addressed the group over other possible funding possibilities.
Heather Sipe with EMA reported cleanup continues , saying TEMA reports 49,000 cubic yards, which equates to 69,000 tons of debris has been removed from the river to date. But with 32 miles to cover , lots of work remains to be done.
