That’s AIDNET of Greene County President Jeff Idell, kicking off the local organizations final post Hurricane Helene meeting Tuesday, celebrating everyone who has been a part of the long term recovery from Hurricane Helene.
AIDNET Treasurer Wendy Peay reported the final five of 66 total applications were closed on Tuesday prior to the meeting. Idell estimates total recovery costs of up to $7 million in AIDNET funds, in-kind services and spending my churches and other organizations.
In the past 14 months, AIDNET has:
1. Received 66 applications for assistance
2. Rebuilt or repaired 60 homes (people have moved back in)
3. Spent nearly $2M on building materials, supplies, and builders
4. Received and directed more than $2M in in-kind gifts, donated materials, and relief
5. Worked an unbelievable number of hours
6. Handed over all other unmet needs to My Neighbor’s House
