An Afton man was arrested on drug charges Thursday after he was found asleep next to the bowling alley on Mason Street.
Officers with the Greeneville Police Department responded to the scene around 8:45 PM and found Christopher Smith of Ripley Island Road asleep on the ground. The officers woke smith up and he said he was waiting on his sister to pick him up.
Smith reportedly smelled of alcohol and appeared intoxicated. A baggie of methamphetamine was found in his front pocket. He was charged with public intoxication and simple possession of meth.
