In a very short called meeting of the Greene County Purchasing Committee Friday morning, the group approved a bid for the purchase of electrical supplies for the second, third and fourth floors at the Greene County Administration Center (the former Takoma building).
CED (Consolidated Electrical Distributors) on Industrial Road in Greeneville was awarded the bid of $158,153.22. Although not the low bid, committee members, as required by law when the low bid is not accepted, cited dealing a company with which the county already has worked with before, and the convenience of dealing with a local company, especially in case of issues, rather than the low bidder, Denny of Boyertown, Pennsylvania.

MAYOR SAYS THREE MORE OFFICES TO MOVE IN THIS SPRING
Not on the agenda but as an informational item, Mayor Kevin Morrison told committee members near the end of the meeting three more offices should be moving in this spring

Between now and then, those three offices, including the Trustees office, as Radio Greeneville told you last week, will continue to operate out of the Annex building on Cutler Street. However, as we mentioned earlier, all those offices are closed today due to the remnants of the weekend weather.
