A Greeneville man was arrested for driving under the influence Thursday afternoon near the 1600 block of Jim Fox Road.
When deputies arrived they found a vehicle in a ditch with the driver still inside, who was reportedly trying to leave and appeared impaired. The smell of alcohol was detected and deputies said there was vomit on his clothes.
The driver, Michael R. Malone, had to be helped out from the vehicle and was reportedly unable to stand on his own. Malone did admit he was drinking a bottle of Fireball earlier that morning.
According to the report, during the crash the vehicle ran off the roadway and struck a utility pole before coming to a rest in the ditch.
