Authorities are searching for a man who escaped from custody in Greene County around 7:30 this morning.
51-year-old Sean Williams was being transported from the Laurel County, Kentucky Jail to the federal courthouse in Greeneville. Williams is a former Johnson City businessman facing numerous charges, including two counts of rape of a child, sixteen counts of especially aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor, three counts of aggravated sexual battery of a child under 13, and distribution of meth.
Williams is a white male, 5’11’ tall, and around 170 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. He was wearing light tan jail clothes. He is reportedly desperate to escape custody and has attempted previously. He was last seen in the West Summer Street area around 8:30 AM.
If you see Williams, do not approach him. Call 911 immediately. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation announced that a reward of up to $2,500 is being offered for information leading to his arrest.
Greeneville City Schools were placed on a precautionary external lockdown today due to Williams’ escape.
